Petrin Hill, covered mostly by green forests and parks in spring and summer, is one of the key features of the Prague panorama. It is situated on the left bank of the river Vltava, a few hundred metres upstream from Prague Castle. Petrin Hill overlooks Lesser Quarter, a historical district of Prague.
Petrin Hill Funicular
You can get to the top of Petrin Hill by funicular from Lesser Quarter. The bottom station is located in Ujezd, near Best Western Hotel Kampa. The closest metro stations are Malostranska (line A) and Narodni Trida (line B).
At the peak of Petrin you can visit a lookout tower. If it reminds you of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it is not an accident – the more famous French attraction served as inspiration when constructing the (considerably smaller) lookout tower at Petrin.
