This page covers hotels on M27 motorway in Hampshire, England (Southampton – Portsmouth). I have tried to list the hotels with most convenient access to the motorway, typically at service stations (there is only one on the M27 – Rownhams services) or within a mile from a junction. The locations are ordered from west (Cadnam) to east (Portsmouth). All hotels are accessible from both directions (eastbound and westbound), unless stated otherwise.

Hotels on M27 West of Southampton
Junction 1 (Cadnam, A31)
The M27 starts from the A31 road near Cadnam, about 10 miles west of Southampton in New Forest National Park. If you have time, this is a nice area to stay, although there are only a few hotels really close to the M27.
The nearest is Bartley Lodge Hotel, half a mile from the J1 roundabout. It has free parking, an indoor pool and really beautiful surroundings.
Another hotel, a mile from J1 on the other side, is The Bell Inn, with free parking, free WiFi and a wide range of services. It also has a good restaurant with kid and special meals available.
A bit further away, 3 miles from junction 1, is Lyndhurst, a large (population 3,000) village and the centre of New Forest National Park, with about a dozen hotels and B&B’s. Here you can search hotels in Lyndhurst.
Junction 2 (Paultons Park, A36, Salisbury)
There are two hotels just off J2 and close to Paultons theme park (Peppa Pig World) and Paultons golf course. Both hotels come with free parking, free internet and a restaurant.
Premier Inn Southampton West – A typical roadside Premier Inn, with 24h front desk and all the basic services. Pets not allowed.
Mortimer Arms Inn – This one is of slightly higher standard (4 stars) and slightly more expensive than the former. It has a nice garden and stylish furnishings. Pets are allowed on request.
Junction 3 (Southampton West, The Docks, M271)
This is the junction with M271, with no direct access to smaller local roads. The M271 is a short motorway which links the M27 with Totton, Southampton Docks and western parts of the city. If you take the M271 towards Southampton, there is one hotel just off the next junction – Holiday Inn Express Southampton West, with free WiFi and free parking. This is actually one of the best places logistically on the western edge of Southampton.

Rownhams Services
The only service station on the M27 is situated between junctions 3 and 4 just north of Southampton and 1.5 miles west of M3 start. There is a hotel on the westbound (southbound) side, accessible from the other side through a pedestrian subway:

Junction 4 (M27/M3)
J4 is the M27/M3 interchange and the start of the latter motorway. There is no direct access to the south (central Southampton) from the M27. If you are going from the M27 to the M3 and onwards, or in the opposite direction, the closest conveniently located hotel is Holiday Inn Southampton Eastleigh off the next M3 junction (J13), just a mile from M27 J4. It has free parking, free WiFi, pool, fitness and a offers wide range of services.

Junction 5 (Southampton Airport, Eastleigh)
There are two hotels within half a mile from J5 – one directly at Southampton Airport (Premier Inn Southampton Airport) and the other next to Lakeside Country Park, on the way to Eastleigh (Ellington Lodge at The Concorde). The latter has free parking.

Junction 7 (Hedge End, Thornhill)
Junction 7 serves the north-eastern part of Southampton and adjacent suburbs. There are two hotels near J7:
Holiday Inn Express Southampton - M27, J7 – Free parking, free WiFi, family friendly, non-smoking rooms, pets allowed.
Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton – Free parking, free WiFi, fitness, sauna, spa, business facilities, also has large rooms for up to 4 adults + 2 children.
Junction 8 (Southampton East, Netley)
Yew Tree Bed and Breakfast – 1km from the motorway in the southern part of Hedge End. Free parking, free WiFi, high guest review rating of 9.1/10 at the moment.
Hotels on M27 near Fareham
Junction 9 (Fareham West, Whiteley)
If you are looking for something more than just a motorway hotel, there is a nice 4 star hotel and spa complex at the Solent Business Park in Whiteley, half a mile from J9 – Solent Hotel and Spa. It has free parking, free WiFi and a wide range of sport, fitness and wellness options, including a swimming pool, whirlpool, spa, sauna, gym or tennis courts.
Junction 10 (Wickham)
Junction 10 has westbound exit and eastbound entry only. Junction 11 is less than a mile away.
Junction 11 (Fareham, Wallington, Gosport)
There are several accommodation options near J11, which is the main junction for Fareham town centre. The hotel closest to the motorway is The Roundabout Hotel, situated as its name suggests by the next roundabout. It has free parking, free WiFi and a large restaurant serving English and French cuisine. Pets allowed and free.

Hotels on M27 near Portsmouth
Junction 12 (Portsmouth, Ferries, M275)
This is a very big junction of M27 and M275, which is a short motorway going to Portsmouth city centre and ferry terminal. J12 also provides access to Cosham and the Port Solent area of north Portsmouth. Here you can find two hotels really close to the M27 exit:
Portsmouth Marriott Hotel – This one is the better and more expensive of the two, offering a wide range of services and the usual Marriott standard.
Premier Inn Portsmouth Port Solent – A cheaper alternative, also with free parking and free WiFi. A basic Premier Inn hotel, but with modern rooms and very nice bathrooms.
If you prefer apartments, there is one place at Oyster Quay in the Port Solent area next to the motorway: Port Solent Apartment. It comes with a balcony and nice view of the marina.
If you are heading to the ferry terminal or central Portsmouth, you will find far more accommodation options there. There is a hotel with free parking directly facing the ferry terminal – Ferry House Lodge.

End of M27 (Cosham, Hilsea)
